SYMPTOM(s):
8265 error when creating a database via a shortcut
Unable to copy source or target database, because we couldn't connect to it. (8265)
Can create a database via Data Dictionary from Start ->Programs ->Progress
Can create a database via PROENV window from Start ->Programs ->Progress
CAUSE:
Shortcut has the wrong Start In directory. The Start In directory was the default installation location.
FIX:
Fix Properties of the shortcut icon to have Start In directory point to the Progress Working directory you identified during installation or to another directory where you have permission to create files.
