FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
Cannot startup webspeed broker
ERROR: cannot start server. (8100)
Error 8100 in broke log file
No errors in server log except message 9543 and 8835, then log closed
Connected to database <database>, user number <usernum>. (9543)
WTA server initializing. (8835)
None of the agents ever become available, though message 9543 indicates that the agents connected to database
Manually starting _progres with the same pf as webspeed agents was successful
Upgraded webspeed license from 5 agents to 25 agents.
When upgrade, did not delete original install, instead renamed the original direcotry and installed the new license into the original directory name
The ubroker.properties file was copied directly from the original install and not converted from initial template
Configured a new broker from the same ubroker.properties file reproduce the same problem
After restoring ubroker.properties file from template and reconfiguring wsbroker1 to have the same initial instance and database connection parameters, wsbroker was able to start
CAUSE:
The ubroker.properties file copied over contains invalid entries, at this point not able to pinpoint the exact offending entries
FIX:
1. Restore ubroker.properties file from template
2. Copy and inserted the broker configuration to the restored ubroker.properties
3. Restart broker
