What has to be done on clients if DB server is upgraded with a Service Pack?
GOAL:
Consequences of installing a service pack on DB Server
FIX:
There is no problem to upgrade the Database Server only, and not the clients as long as no shared memory connection to the database is done.
If you are using shared memory connection (self service client) then the same version as well as the same service pack or patch level is required for the client and the server.
