Version 6 of Progress

6.3A - supports Windows 4GL and RDBMS
6.4B - supports HP Host Based DBE Progress RDBMS
(this is the only version that supports host-
based interactive clients.)

Version 7 of Progress
--------------------------------------------------

7.3A -> **Windows**
- supports DBE Clients and RDBMS
- capable of using v6 and v7 servers that are not dbe enabled,
while still providing dbe support

-> **UNIX**
- supports DBE RDBMS and Batch Clients
(no host-based interactive clients)

7.3B - supports NT DBE Server
- supports Windows TranMan

7.3D -> **UNIX**
- supports DBE Oracle DataServer
- supports DBE Japanese Motif Client
(Solaris 2.4 only)
- supports DBE Progress RDBMS
- DBE Batch Client

-> **Windows**
- supports DBE Oracle DataServer
- supports DBE Progress RDBMS

**NOTE** All 7.3 and above Progress Versions
support DBE Progress. You will have to run
$DLC/bin/make_dbe to create the files needed to run
DBE. This is necessary for UNIX Servers and batch clients
and is NOT mentioned in Manuals only Release Notes.
For Windows you will need to install the "DBE Supplement"
to obtain double-byte functionality.

Version 8 of Progress

8.1A -> AppServer offers DBE support

8.2A -> **UNIX**
- supports DBE character clients using VT100 terminals

**NOTE** All 8.0 and above Progress Versions
support DBE Progress. You will have to run
