SYMPTOM(s):
Starting the database server from client with proserve dbname -S <port> fails
<file-name> is a copy of <file-name>. Database cannot be opened. (598)
File <filename> is on a remote device. (9466)
CAUSE:
Database was created on server machine and the .st file contains server path entries
FIX:
Depending on the license if available start ProService or AdminServer
on the remote machine. Connect via ProControl or Progress Explorer to the remote ProService or AdminServer and start the database from there.
If ProControl or Progress Explorer are not available you can also use RAS
(Remote Access Service) to make a connection to the remote machine and start the
database on the remote machine.
