SUMMARY:
7.3C20 Maintenance Release Progress/400
The following new features and fixes are in this release.
96-05-07-017 Selection by Server now works properly with case
sensitive fields.
96-04-18-020 Transactions are now rolled back properly when a client
disconnects abnormally.
96-04-11-019 Signed integer comparisons now work correctly for
negative numbers.
96-03-18-033 Index numbers are now correctly re-sequenced after you
change the primary index.
96-02-07-008 MCH3601 errors will no longer occur when you execute
FOR EACH statements.
96-02-06-031 TCP broker in TIMW. With multiply connects and disco-
nnects no longer cause the broker to remain in a TIMW
state and refuse server connection requests.
95-12-13-043 Multiple Index expression returns extra record for each
expression, giving the wrong set of records or none at
all. You can now set a switch at startup time to indicate
that the query you are running may not return the correct
data.
95-12-20-020 DUPPRODB case sensitivity value now overrides the setting
established by the INSTALL case sensitivity parameter.
96-03-29-030 Database Relations Over Physical File not saved.
Progress/400 Dictionary changes now immediately saves
database relations if the operation to commit the changes
fails.
96-03-29-028 Deleting Indexes and the Progress/400 Dict
Deleting indexes over modified physical files deletes the
logical view even though you did not request it.
This is related to bug's 96-03-29-030, 96-03-29-028.
96-03-18-016 QCMD Feature.
Now returns job numbers as specified in the Progress/400
Guide.
96-03-15-019 MCH3601 Errors and Large Joblogs.
No longer occur when making changes via the Progress/400
data dictionary.
95-08-10-020 Trigger in wrong field.
When you load a definition file that contains triggers,
the triggers are now correctly assigned to the
appropriate field.
96-04-25-023 Verify the QSYS2 library is in the library list.
96-04-15-014 Cannot update NULL capable fields.
96-03-18-036 Retain DDS file for all commit cycles.
DDS file generated during the commit cycle is now
retained.
96-03-18-029 Allow joblogs for TCP/IP servers.
STRPRONET command allows you to specify if you want a
joblog when a TCP/IP server ends.
96-03-15-017 TCP/IP PROSERVER writes to QPRINT.
PROSERVER jobs not longer write a one-line error to
QPRINT if an error occurs. Notification of these errors
are now written to the joblog.
96-02-15-038 Preserve Objects authority.
If an object is recreated by the PROGRESS/400 dictionary
the authority of the original object is now carried to
the new object.
95-07-06-084 INSTALL Command now handles the temporary library
parameter.
Enhancements:
New Switch for -Dsrv Parameter
-Dsrv QBSFGE=0 This switch causes a dial box to appear on complex
Query's, if the data will not be returned correctly.
-Dsrv QBSFGE=1 This switch will always ignore the error.
INSTALL Command stores Serial #
INSTALL Command is expanded to included fields in which you specify
the DataServer product serial number, release and control numbers.
Field List Support
The Progress/400 DataServer now supports field lists, as explained
in the PROGRESS Programming Handbook. This is an important
performance feature, but it requires also version 8.1 or higher on
the client side.
STRPRONET Command
Has additional parameters for joblogs of TCP/IP, specify *YES as part
of the TCPINF parameters.
CHGPRODCT Command
Now supports a wider range of options when handling database
relations (logical views)
FRMFILLST Parameter
Now allows additional values.
