GOAL:
Understanding the high number of Record Locks since database started
FIX:
When accessing the screen Activity from Promon menu, i.e. choosing option 5, you see the values since the database broker was started, as per the header
Activity - Sampled at <today-date> <current-time> for <time-elapsed>.
Should your database broker being started few days/weeks/months ago, then you will have most certainly high numbers there.
The RECORD LOCKS number is showing the number of Record Locks that has been used; it includes all the occurrences of a same record lock.
For knowing the maximum record locks that has occurred at the same time, you have to check the lock table High Water Mark. You can see this value within
promon under R&D > Status Displays > Shared Resources.
