CAUSE:
Selection of the DB-link after the pre-selection criteria causes the problem. Selecting the DB-link after the pre-selection criteria may cause error that is only visible in the windows GUI client. With the character client, the error is not trapped, therefore it goes back to the Data Dictionary without displaying the error.
FIX:
Do not select any of the DB-link after the pre-selection criteria. Just clicking OK on that screen should bring the Oracle tables that you are looking for.
