Status: Verified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
Progress 9.x
WebSpeed 3.x
SYMPTOM(s):
Java.exe process trying to get rights of server
Firewall
CHANGE:
Migrate to 9.x
CAUSE:
During the installation of the Progress 9 for Win32 the Progress AdminServer creates an entry on Control Panel, Services and configure it for automatic startup.
This service is responsible for managing the server processes (database, Webspeed, application servers, etc) on the local machine and use the TCP/IP port 20931 by default.
FIX:
If there is no server process being managed by the AdminServer on the machine, set the service AdminServer for Progress 9.x for manual.
Stopping this service does not compromise the operation of the client processes on the machine.
