SYMPTOM(s):
Euro displayed as question mark
Using Delphi client to proxy to appserver to Progress database
DB codepage is ISO8859-1, cpinternal and cpstream for appserver are also ISO8859-1
Client in 9.1c
Database is 8.3e
Can display the Euro in Delphi on the client if Alt0128 is typed. From Progress to db client also displays the Euro correctly
CAUSE:
Though we are using ISO8859-1 for the database the client should use 1252 codepage as this is what Windows is using and it has a Euro symbol which ISO8859-1 does not have.
FIX:
Changed cpinternal and cpstream to 1252 fixed the display of the Euro
