GOAL:
How to convert a version 6.X database to version 8.X?
FIX:
1. Backup the database, and confirm the backup is valid.
2. Truncate the Bi file under the version 6.X installation of Progress.
3. Install Version 8.x of Progress.
4. Change the DLC, PROMSGS, and PATH environment variables to point to the 8.x installation of Progress.
5. Run the "conv68" conversion utility.
Syntax: proutil dbname -C conv68.
