SUMMARY:
On the AS/400 using a TCP/IP connection, the proserver job on the
AS/400 is left running if a Windows client abnormally terminates. This
situation will cause a reboot and the server job for the client will
continue to run. The operator must cancel the server job. IBM has PTF
that will correct this, Order these directly from IBM.
V3R1 - MF12613
V3R2 - MF12615
V3R6 - MF12694
On the TCP/IP configuration options there is a parameter within the
CHGTCPA command TCPKEEPALV (TCP keep alive) there is a default of 120
minutes you may want to change this setting.
If you do not change this default, your proserver job will remain
running on the AS/400 even though you have applied the above PTF.
