SYMPTOM(s):
Trying to restore a database with PROREST
Performing a verify on the backup afterwards gives error 448 which indicates this UNIX limit.
SYSTEM ERROR: CRC failure on backup header block (1058)
** Your database name is longer than 11 characters. (448)
CAUSE:
This error can occur because of a UNIX restriction that the Progress database name cannot be longer than 11 characters. When adding .db to the database-name the total is 14 characters and a UNIX limit is reached.
FIX:
Make the database name 11 characters maximum.
