Network connections taking 30 -40 seconds instead of 1 or 2 seconds
CHANGE:
Moved Progress from WINNT 4.0 to Windows 2003 server with SP3
CAUSE:
Host name to IP resolution was not be resolved quickly due to network settings on each workstation.
FIX:
On each workstation in the Control Panel, Network and Dial-up Connections icon:
1. Local Area Connection >Properties
2. Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties
3. Set Preferred DNS Server's IP address under Use the following DNS server addresses.
