ProDataset - Make Callback-Procedures on the DataSource
GOAL:
Suggestion to development: wouldn't it make more sense to associate callback procedures with the data-source object rather than the buffer/records?
FIX:
No plans to change this, the datasouce contains the field mappings between the db table(s) and the dataset table. This mapping is very important in the 4gl/ado interface where we need to deal with array subscripts and dashes in names and making a single table from a join etc. It gets very messy to try to squeeze
the mapping of many tables into a single attach-datasource method on a dataset, and is just clearer and simpler to do for a single buffer/datasource pair at a time.
