Report Builder and SQL Views
Report Builder cannot do reports on SQL Views
created by PROGRESS.
When working with a foreign database such as Oracle,
a view is stored in the schema holder for the Oracle
database in the _view table. When connected to the
database from Report Builder, the View does not appear
in the list of available tables.
However, Report Builder can use views that were created
in Oracle (or any other non-Progress database that
supports views) if when the schema holder is built for that
non-Progress database PROGRESS is told to include the view
as one of the tables in the schema holder. In this case,
the view appears like any other table both in the data
dictionary and in the list of tables that Report Builder displays.
This can be done with Views that access one table, however
a View made up of multiple tables may not work.
