GOAL:
Is Progress OpenEdge certified for Windows platforms with 64-bit processor?
GOAL:
Is there a 64-Bit version of Progress OpenEdge for Windows?
GOAL:
Can I run the 32-Bit version of OpenEdge on Microsoft Windows 64 Bit Platforms?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1x
Windows 64-Bit
OpenEdge 10.1A 64-bit
FIX:
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, XP Professional and Datacenter Editions come in 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions.
Progress V9.1D and OpenEdge 10.1A are both certified against Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, which is only available as 32-Bit.
There is no 64-Bit version of Progress OpenEdge for the Windows 64-Bit platforms prior to 10.2A., however, Progress supports its 32 Bit version of OpenEdge Release 10 with Microsoft Windows 64 Bit Intel Platforms, but it has not been optimized for 64-Bit hardware.
OpenEdge 10.2A is the first 64-bit version of OpenEdge for the 64-bit versions of Windows.
