What is the different between ProService and AdminService?
FIX:
The differences between ProService and AdminService are quite large. But in short, the AdminService or AdminServer is the new tool (introduced in version 9) to control all Progress servers, brokers and databases. It is built on the unified broker technology and all its definitions are stored in a file called ubroker.properties The AdminServer process is admsrvc.exe and when the Adminserver is running you use the Progress Explorer tool do create the definitions of servers, brokers etc.
The ProService is the old tool with which to start the services and databases. It cannot control as many processes and services as the AdminServer can.
It will be abandoned after version 9.
