Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
WebSpeed 3.1D
SYMPTOM(s):
Using the WebSpeed Application Manager Tool.
Web compilation process involves a lot of programs.
Internet Explorer displays an "invalid syntax" error during the compile.
The error Internet Explorer generates looks like as follows:
Line:44
Char:3
Error:Invalid Syntax
Code:0
URL:http://localhost/scripts/cgiip.exe/WService=wsbroker1/webtools/appmgr.p?Na
me=&Do=AllCompile&DIR5=1&DIR6=1&DIR8=1&DIR9=1
CAUSE:
The Application Manager WebTool passes the actual file names on the URL, which causes a URL limitation issue.
FIX:
Select a directory that does not contain a lot of programs to be compiled. If the application contains lots of source code, then split the files between several directories so that the compilation process can be done in phases and not all at once.
