FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
Backup performance problem on Win2000 Server
Probkup slow on Win2k Server
Microsoft SP3 for Win2000 installed
No additional memory can be added
CAUSE:
The OS cache is filled while running probkup which has to access each block of the database.
FIX:
Run every few minutes "cacheset" (from "sysinternals") so that the cache is emptied and no paging is occurring.
It is to be noted that such problem does not exist on Win2000 Professional.
