SYMPTOM(s):
Progress Version 2 not starting on Windows 2000
CAUSE:
Progress Version 2 was never certified on Windows 2000, however, this version is only single user and has no interface. It needs to run from the DOS shell. Found that by removing a third-party application that retrieves postcode information into their application, that Progress Version 2 functionality works as expected on Windows 2000 DOS shell.
FIX:
Upgrade to Progress 9.1D which is certified on Windows 2000.
