FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.x

All Supported Operating Systems

FIX:

A Progress Database can be moved to a different Operating System via the Dump and Load procedure.
Progress does not support the use of operating system commands and/or utilities to copy a database from one operating system platform to another.

Examples where operating system commands and/or utilities would not be supported:
SUN Solaris to RedHat Linux
or
HP-UX 32 bit to HP-UX 64 bit

The only supported database migration method between unlike operating systems or platforms is a complete dump and load of the Progress database. However, copying databases between machines that run the same operating systems can successfully be done (using operating system commands and/or utilities).
