Moving SmartObject Code from V8 Windows to V8 Unix
If you plan to deploy SmartObjects on 8.0B Unix, you must use 8.0A03
(or higher) on Windows to develop the code which you will port to
Unix 8.0B.
To port SmartObject code to 8.0B on Unix, you must do the following:
1. Install the 8.0A03 patch (or any revision higher than that
patch level) on your Windows platform.
2. Develop the code on Windows, compile and test it there.
3. Copy all files under the dlc/src/adm directory (template,
objects, support, and method) and the application source
code to Unix, in the same directory structure as on Windows.
4. Compile all of the code in the dlc/src/adm/objects directory
and place the .r's in that directory.
5. Compile and test the application on Unix.
The same steps apply for 8.1A windows to 8.1A Unix, but there is a
limitation! Only the FCS 8.1A ADM code can be compiled on the Unix
side without errors. Any 8.1A patch which contains ADM changes will
fail on Unix. The Unix 8.2A release contains the missing files and
is error free. In case of emergency and where the 8.2A release is not
available, the ETSC has a clean ADM version on the base of 8.1A05.
