SYMPTOM(s):
Java based client cannot access the NameServer through a PIX firewall.
Connect Failure: Timeout or Interrupt occurred while attempting to communicate with NameServer. (8231)
Connect Failure: Timeout or Interrupt occurred while attempting to communicate with NameServer. (8231)
All necessary TCP and UDP ports are open
CAUSE:
Although the ports are open, the firewall must be setup to allow IP addresses to access the ports.
FIX:
Grant IP address access to the ports.
