SYMPTOM(s):
There is no server for database <dbname>. (1423)
Database on a NFS mounted drive on machine2
Database broker started on machine1
Attempt to connect to the database from machine2
CAUSE:
Connection in self service mode needs access to the database shared memory segment initiated by the broker (proserve), on machine1
FIX:
1. Start on machine1 a remote database broker, i.e. start proserve with the additional parameters
-S <service> H machine1 -N TCP
2. connect from machine2 as a remote client, i.e. with the additional parameters
-S <service> H machine1 -N TCP
