CAUSE:
Bug# 20001010-012
CAUSE:
The actual limit for version 8 and 9 is 16 fields in a compound index, on Windows there is no problem creating an index with over 10 fields. However on some flavours of UNIX you might get the error "You cannot add more components to this index" when adding field number 11.
This is only a problem in the dictionary itself, if you load a .df (or a delta.df) with an index with over 10 fields to your database then this is accepted without problem.
FIX:
The bug is fixed in version 9.1D.
Build a fake .df and load it by using the ordinary Data Dictionary utilities.
