SYMPTOM(s):

Remote user terminated abnormally during large transaction.

User does not show up in promon shutdown menu.

User shows up in the user list.

User still active in _connect table.

User has record locks in _lock table.

Lock table entries increasing rapidly.

User disconnect recorded in database log file.

HANGUP signal received. (562)

Begin transaction backout. (2252)

No 2253 message indicating transaction backout completed.

FACT(s) (Environment):

CAUSE:

The remote server process is attempting to backout the transaction the remote user had started. Depending on the size and complexity of the transaction, this process may take a while.

FIX:

Give the transaction backout more time to complete. Once the 2253 message appears in the log file, the user should be removed from the _connect table and their locks removed.
