Reading the documentation on the Progress PROUTIL IDXFIX Qualifier
The Progress Database Collection manuals do not mention that options 1, 2 and 3 of the IDXFIX Utility menu allow for database index repair
The Progress Database Collection manuals include the Progress Database Administration Guide and Reference & Progress Database Design Guide

CAUSE:
This is a documentation bug. The Progress Database Collection manuals should note that the user has the ability to repair corrupted database indices when selecting options 1, 2 or 3 of the Progress idxfix utility. It should mention that these menu options when chosen will ask the user whether or not s/he would like to fix corrupted indices
FIX:
In Progress OpenEdge 10.0A, verbiage has been added to IDXFIX sections within the Progress Database Collection manuals so that the user will know that IDXFIX can also repair corrupted indexes
