SYMPTOM(s):
Connecting to Primus from Quantum takes a very long time
Internet Explorer connection to Primus without Citrix is much faster.
Connecting to Internet via Citrix client connection also take a long time.
Standalone Internet Explorer (IE) browser shows "Detecting Proxy Server" on startup.
CAUSE:
Internet Explorer is automatically detecting proxy settings on startup.
FIX:
To disable "detecting proxy setting" from your Citrix desktop:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Select Stop button to cancel detection of proxy settings.
3. Select Tools pull down menu from Internet Explorer tool bar.
4. Select "Internet Options..." from the drop-down menu
5. Choose Connections Tab
6. Click on "LAN Settings..." button
7. In the LAN Settings window deselect the check off box for "Automatically Detect Settings. Then OK to return to LAN Settings Window.
8. Click on OK on the LAN Settings window for changes to be saved.
Now all subsequent IE browser sessions on this specific Citrix Server will no longer detect proxy settings. You will have faster access to the Internet.
