Status: Verified
SYMPTOM(s):
Databases do not show in Progress Explorer
java.lang.NullPointerException
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
CHANGE:
Added semsets to the conmgr.properties file
CAUSE:
Semsets are a Unix only startup parameter and cannot be used for Windows.
FIX:
The conmgr.properties file holds the database settings that you enter into Progress Explorer. Although the conmgr.properties file should not normally be edited directly, the semsets line can be removed directly from the file and the file saved or do the following.
Take the current conmgr.properties file and rename it to conmgr.properties_old. Create a new conmgr.properties file from the conmgr.properties-sav file in the same directory. You can now add the database entries through Progress Explorer using the conmgr.properties_old file to get the original startup parameters.
