FIX:

OpenEdge Release 10.x ODBC DataServer will provide DataDirect(Merant) 4.2 ODBC Driver or higher for the ODBC access to AS/400 DB2 database. Need to configure the ODBC Data Source (DSN) in the ODBC Administration window. After the connection of the ODBC is successful, the rest of the procedures is similar to the ODBC DataServer as it was before.

Some of the loss of functionality as oppose to Progress/400 are listed:

1. Word indexing support
2. Incremental dump and load support
3. No AS/400 native 4GL compiler support
4. No support for the Progress/400 client networking with Progress/400 V9.1C DataServer

Despite all of the loss of functionality described above, the query using field list shown to out perform the Progress/400 DataServer product.
