SYMPTOM(s):
ACTIVEX: Microsoft Webcomponent OCX cannot be put in updateable mode
Cannot change cells in Microsoft Office Spreadsheet OCX
CAUSE:
The Webcomponent OCXes depend on the matching version of Microsoft Office.
If this version of Office is not present, the OCX will be permanently locked in read-only mode.
For example, in order to use the full capabilities of the "Microsoft Office Spreadsheet 10.0", Microsoft Office XP (= Office version 10) must be installed.
FIX:
Since this is a feature in the Microsoft products, Progress Software can not do anything about this.
It is advised to ensure the correct components are used with the correct version of Microsoft Office.
