Index Storage area is growing rapidly
Index Storage area variable extent hits 2 Gigabytes
Still growing after adding new extents
Idxanalys shows only 30% utilization for several indexes
CAUSE:
Large number of record adds and updates causing Index tree to grow.
FIX:
When the DBANALYS or IDXANALYS utility indicates that space utilization of an index is reduced to 60% or less, use the PROUTIL IDXCOMPACT utility to perform index compaction online. Performing index compaction increases space utilization of the index block to the compacting percentage specified.
