SYMPTOM(s):
Attempt to prorest a database from an online backup tape fails with message looking for volume one.
Scripts are used to run the probkup.
Scripts were written back in 1996.
The backup is done online daily and offline on Sunday.
Offline backup restores without a problem.
The online backup file is larger than the offline backup file.
CAUSE:
The tape drive was configured to handle 20 GB, even though they used a 40 GB tape.
It asked for the new tape when the tape reached this 20GB limit.
FIX:
Reconfigure the tape drive.
