FACT(s) (Environment):
SUN Solaris Sparc
SYMPTOM(s):
All databases went down after socket:connect() executed on AppServer.
WDOG 6: /db/masterp11/masterp11.lk: HOSTNAME is cartman, expected -f . (4192)
WDOG 6: /db/masterp11/masterp11.lk is not a valid .lk file for this
server. (4196)
smtpmail utility from FFW (free framework) is being used
CAUSE:
BUG in FFW procedure gethostname.p:
INPUT {&SC} THROUGH VALUE("hostname -f").
The "hostname -f" does not work on Solaris, so in this case the hostname has been changed to "-f" and this change caused all databases went down.
FIX:
Use "uname -n" instead of "hostname -f".
