Client connect fails with error (1423)
There is no server for database <dbname>. (1423)
Error 1423 when connecting to database via shared memory
Database is running on Windows 2000, Windows 2003 terminal server systems
Error 1423 when promon database
When database is started using a GUI tool such as Procontrol or Progress Explorer character clients fail to connect to database
Can connect to database using character commands such as proserve and mpro

Upgrade to the latest version of Progress
If you cannot upgrade to the latest version of Progress, Upgrade to Progress 9.1C with last patch, or Progress 9.1B with last patch.
