FACT(s) (Environment):

SuSe Linux 8.1
Progress 9.1D

SYMPTOM(s):

The detected JVM Version does not match the version supported by Progress.
Detected Version: 1.3.1_04
Supported Version: 1.3.0

This warning occurs when installing Progress 9.1D on SuSe Linux 8.1

CAUSE:

This is only a warning message. At the time the Progress 9.1D product media was released, the 9.1D product hadn't been certified against the 1.3.1 Java version, thus it couldn't be supported. Progress 9.1D is now certified against the 1.3.1 Java version and its service packs (i.e. 1.3.1_04). However, this warning message will still occur during a 9.1D installation (as the JVM detection method is hard-coded in the Progress installation script).

FIX:

As indicated in the "CAUSE" statement above, this is only a warning. You can continue with the installation. However, you may have to manually alter the $DLC/Java_env file after the installation is complete to be sure it's been tailored to point to your JVM's installation directory.
