How do I deploy a Webclient Service pack?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
FIX:
1. Obtain the "WIN NT Developer's WebClient (webinst.exe)" from the Progress Download Center.
2. Run the webinst.exe executable.
This will create a webinst folder with the intranet, web_image and win_image subfolders.
3. Replace the current intranet, web_image, or win_image directory with the newly created one. The folder replaced depends on how WebClient was original distributed to clients.
4. Edit the new bootstrap and the webclient.htm files with the proper file paths as the previous files.
5. Generate a new version of the cab files using the WebClient Application Assembler and change the WebClient version to reflect the patch level.
The new procapc file will reflect the new version of WebClient and the current end users should be updated automatically the next time they run the WebClient application.
