FIX:
In the registry under the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib
Add a string value EventLogLevel and give it a value of "0".
NOTE: Always make sure you have a valid backup of your registry before making changes to it manually.
