Status: Verified
SYMPTOM(s):
The connect-timeout parameter is being ignored by Fathom High Availability Replication
FACT(s) (Environment):
Fathom Replication 1.0A
Fathom Replication 2.0A
IBM AIX
Sun Solaris Intel
CAUSE:
On some platforms the TCP/IP layer maintains a "logical connection" between two points even if the "physical connection" has been lost. On other platforms, TCP/IP does return a failure in the case of a loss of "physical connection". Under most circumstances, TCP/IP does report peer failures when the connection is broken due to a process crashing if the peer machine crashes.
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00094598
FIX:
This issue is fixed in the following versions by the introduction of the Repl-keep-alive parameter. This parameter is set within the source replication properties file.
Upgrade to OpenEdge Replication 3.0A or higher
