INTRODUCTION:
=============
This entry describes the absolute minimum files required to run a
PROGRESS V7 character application in a DOS enviornment.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
The disk storage requirements for PROGRESS Version 7 products can
range up to 82 MB depending upon the license type, add-on products,
etc. All of these files are NOT required when the customer runs ONLY
existing applications and does not access the Data Dictionary, use the
Procedure Editor, or run utilities. By using just the files required
to run precomplied applications, the customer can reduce disk storage
requirements substantially.
PROCEDURAL APPROACH:

The following files are required to run a Progress V7 DOS (char)
client with a precompiled application.

PROGRESS.INI 4.5 KB
PROMSGS 506 KB
RUNDOS.EXE 53 KB
STARTUP.PF 1.1 KB
The following files should be added to the above list depending upon
client/server protocol to be used.
PRONCS.EXE SPX, FTP TCP/IP (Version 3.0 or later)
PROWOL.EXE SPX, Wollongong Pathway Access TCP/IP (V 3.0 or later)
PROLWP.EXE SPX, Novell Workplace for DOS (Version 4.1 or later)
PRONFS.EXE SPX, Sun PC-NFS TCP/IP (Version 5.0 or later)
