GOAL:
Should the disk be defragmented before or after dump and load?
CAUSE:
Potentially dump and load operations can increases disk fragmentation, due to lots of file creations, allocations and deletions. A dump and load of the database eliminates record and index fragmentation within the database files. Defragmenting the disk eliminates file fragmentation within the disk itself
FIX:
To get all files as contiguous as possible, consider defragment the disk after a performed a dump/load.
