SYMPTOM(s):
Installation Error 107 when installing Progress 9.1D06 on HP-UX
INSTALLATION ERROR (107): Unable to set file pointer position. (:|/db7/temp1/sonicadp (EINVAL))
Error comes immediately when running proinst
CAUSE:
The Progress product was a 32-bit product, running on a 64-bit system. The 64-bit patch had been downloaded and untarred by mistake. The mistake was noticed and the required 9.1D06 for the 32-bit product was downloaded and untarred into the same directory as the 64-bit service pack had been untarred into. All files from the 64-bit service pack were overwritten, except for the file sonicadp, which is not contained in this 32-bit service pack.
FIX:
1. Ensure that you are installing the correct service pack.
2. Ensure that all files from the incorrect service pack are removed.
