Do you have to reboot the system after installing a service pack?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
FIX:
The server machine itself doesn't have to be rebooted and/or shutdown after installing the service pack. However, as the readmsp.txt and other documentation points out, before installing a service pack you have to shut down all PROGRESS processes for the installation you are going to install this service pack on.
There is no way around this. If you do not shut down Progress, you may receive messages indicating that some files could not be copied on top of other files (because they are locked\in use by another process), and the installation of the service pack will fail or be incomplete.
