FACT(s) (Environment):
Translation Manager 2.0
SYMPTOM(s):
Translation Manager is ignoring Filters
Strings does not have the (:U) Untranslatable attribute
CAUSE:
This is expected behavior. The filter options in TranMan are intended to enable translators to limit the amount of data that is shown in TranMan in order to make it easier and more intuitive to know what to translate.
Additionally, by allowing them to choose specific statements and UI components to import, this allows them to differentiate between visual strings (strings which are on the UI and should be translated) and strings that are important for programmatic elements (such as IF THEN ELSE statements) to be able to count on NOT being translated.
FIX:
There is no mechanism that reads and respects filters. Strings that must not be translated should be marked with the (U) Untranslatable attribute.
