SYMPTOM(s):
Appserver and NameServer will not start.
Unable to start <service name> (8297)
No errors are written to the NS log or Appserver log files.
CHANGE:
Permissions where changed on Progress executables.
CAUSE:
Permissions and owner were changed on Progress files that are called by the nsman, and adman scripts.
FIX:
Changed the owner of asbman, ubutil, nsman, java_env, and jvmStart under the $DLC/bin directory to root and ensure permissions are set to 777.
To change the owner of a file to root issue:
chown root filename
To change the file permissions of a file issue:
chmod 777 filename
