SYMPTOM(s):
Attempting to connect an Appserver to a 4th database fails.
Appserver connects to 3 database.
Maximum number of shared-memory segments per process exceeded. (1175)
Kernel parameter SHMMAX is set to 128 mgs.
Used the "idtune" command to set SHMSEG to 15.
UnixWare 7.1
proutil -C dbipcs displays 6 memory segments in use.
Using the default -B parameter resulted in the same problem.
Running sysdef -i showed SHMSEG set to 6.
CAUSE:
UnixWare Kernel was not been updated after making the changes.
FIX:
After modifying a kernel parameter with "idtune" the "idbuild" command must be run to rebuild the system kernel and reboot. Prior to the changed to take affect.
