SYMPTOM(s):
An on-line backup is already active. (1550)
No BKUP entry in PROMON - User Control(Option 1) - Display all Entries(Option 1)
No _mprshut corresponding to last online probkup running
Messages 5461 and 5462 found in database log file
Begin backup of Data file(s). (5461)
End backup of Data file(s). (5462)
Immediate Shutdown of the database not wished

CAUSE:
For none-identified reason the probkup stopped abnormally (no messages 9284 and 1364) leaving the flag "backup running" within the database master block.
FIX:
Run
proquiet <db> -C enable
If the above command is successful (a non-zero value return code would indicate the command was unsuccessful) then make a OS copy of all the database files. When this copy is finished, issue the command
proquiet <dbname> -C disable
There will be no update activity on the database between the two proquiet commands as the database "stalls".
You will need to use "prostrct repair" on the copy of the database prior to making a Progress off-line backup of it.
