DG-UX 4.11 for Motorola and Intel platforms
DG-UX 4.11 is available for both a Motorola 88K based system and an
Intel based system. The operating system is the same, but it is
compiled to run on each platform. It provides the same functionality
at base level. There is an add-on package available, the Application
Capture Option (ACO) that allows you to run Unixware 1.1 or UNIX V.4
applications under DG-UX Intel based 4.11. You need to contact Data
General Corp. if you do not already have this package and would like
to receive it.
This does not mean that you can run applications developed on a prior
DG-UX 3.xx, which was Motorola 88K based, on the new 4.11 Intel based
operating system. These operating systems are not binary compatible.
You also need to install the ACO in order to run PROGRESS UNIX V.4
code on the DG-UX 4.11 Intel based operating system.
