GOAL:
When migrating between minor release levels is it necessary to dump and load the database?
GOAL:
What to do when migrating from 9.1x to 9.1y
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
FIX:
A minor release is identified by the alphabetic character displayed after the numeric version.
Example: 9.1C. Here the minor release is C.
A dump and load is not required when migrating between minor releases. For instance, 9.1C to 9.1D.
However it is recommended to Truncating the .bi with the older version before moving to the next.
